If I could go back in time and tell my younger self anything, it would be to leave my eyebrows alone! I have over plucked and shaved off parts of my eyebrow more times than I care to admit to. As a result, they have grown back shapeless, and incredibly patchy (I have random bald spots in the middle of my brow! Seriously how does that even happen?!) I am too scared to get them shaped professionally because when I have in the past they’ve taken off way too much and they end up being too thin. My dream is to have thick ass Brooke Shields level eyebrows so I cherish every hair. If I can ever get over my fear and hesitation, I would like to get them microbladed but in the meantime, I am always on the hunt for great brow products
I currently use @benefitcosmetics Precisely My Brow pencil in the shade 3 ( it looks like they recently came out with a new shade, 2.75, that might be better suited for redheads so I want to give that a go next!) After filling them in I like to finish with a gel that helps volumize and fluff them up. My go-to has always been @glossier Boy Brow in Blonde, but some of my favorite IG makeup artists use @soapbrows in all their tutorials so I wanted to give it a try and see how it measures up.
The results were…inconclusive for the most part. I asked my mom if she could see any difference between my brows and she couldn’t. I personally could see the difference in that Boy Brow deposited a little bit of color to the hair which in turn made them look fuller, whereas Soap Brow is completely clear so my random patches of blonde brow hair were still visible. Soap Brow does do a better job at holding the fluffed up shape throughout the day though so I will give it that
If your brows are fuller and you don’t have a lot of patchiness, I think Soap Brow is a better option because it gives you that full editorial feathered brow that holds all day. But if you need a bit more oomph and color, Boy Brow will be your best friend.
